Amadeus flight system integration

Flight and hotel search and booking added to a travel platform through a third-party provider.

Client anonymised

Context

Our client runs a platform for travellers and travel service providers. Users could book accommodation, but only listings that business partners had added themselves.

Problem

The catalogue stopped at manually added stays. There were no flights, a narrow choice of hotels and no transport booking, which left the platform looking thin next to competitors.

Solution

We compared several providers of flight, accommodation and transport inventory and settled on Amadeus, integrating through its REST API. We built the integration so that switching provider later means replacing one module, not reworking the system. The platform gained flight search, ticket booking, hotel search and accommodation booking.

Outcome

The platform now offers far more than partners’ own listings and reaches a wider audience, which feeds directly into the client’s revenue.
