ERP system

We extended an ERP with document scanning, RFID gates and working-time calculation for a very large workforce.

Client anonymised

Context

The owner of a group of manufacturing companies employs a large workforce across many factories. All records are kept in the ERP Optima system, but the business needed capabilities that system does not offer.

Problem

The plan covered document scanning with automatic data capture, fraud checks on new employees’ data, integration with RFID gates, working-time calculation from gate readings, and personalised messages sent to the gates. The solution had to be fast and reliable, while network coverage in many of the factories is poor.

Solution

We built a system matched to these requirements and integrated it with ERP Optima to keep the data consistent. Data coming from the gates is encrypted and queued, so weak connectivity does not cause data loss. The system reads scanned documents and extracts both text and photos. The interface is simple, so rolling it out caused employees no trouble.

Outcome

Employees’ time is used better and the number of errors across the process dropped. The client also earns extra revenue by offering the system to subcontractors, which raises income and cuts costs.
