CAD software for glass fitting sales automation

A CAD-style design tool tied to quotes and orders, built from scratch for a glass hardware manufacturer.

Client anonymised

Context

The client is a large manufacturer of glass fittings. Every job needed its own design, and placing an order meant keying data into the system by hand.

Problem

Designers drew each project by hand, which took a lot of time and invited mistakes. Staff also had to make sure every detail reached the system correctly when an order was placed. The designer itself had a very wide functional scope, yet it still had to stay simple to use.

Solution

We built a CAD-style configurator for glass fittings. Designs can be saved and reused. A finished design is sent to the wholesaler automatically as a DXF file, and a quote is generated from it for the customer; once accepted, it becomes an order. The system produces quotes and PDFs itself. Product data is imported on a schedule from the client’s database and from Subiekt GT. We also added user, role and permission management, an admin panel, and a subscription module with promotions so the client’s subcontractors can use the application too.

Outcome

Time spent by designers and the order team has dropped, and the process has fewer errors. The client gained extra revenue from subcontractor subscriptions, and designers can show earlier work to prospective customers.
