CAD software for glass fitting sale automation
Details
Problem
The client manufactures glass fittings. For each order, handwritten designs need to be prepared, leading to a lot of time spent by designers. This process is performed manually, which may result in errors. In addition, when placing an order, the team of employees must ensure that all of the data is correctly entered into the system.
The following functionalities were commissioned:
- An extensive creator of CAD glass fittings
- System of offers and orders integrated with the wizard
- PDF generation based on the created offer/order
- Management of users, roles, and permissions
- Cyclic import of products from SubiektGT software
- A subscription module that allows subcontractors to use the application
- Vector data generator in DXF format, based on a previously created project in the application
- Administrator panel
Challenge
The client is the owner of a large company producing glass fittings. Due to the specificity of the projects, the wizard had a huge number of functional requirements. The challenge was to find a solution that would meet all the customer’s needs while being easy to use and integrate.
Solution
To solve the problem, a glass fittings design wizard was created. Created projects can be saved as templates. When finished, they are automatically sent to the warehouse in DXF format and an offer is generated and sent directly to the customer. On its basis, after acceptance, an order is created.
Entire data used in the wizard is periodically imported directly from the customer’s database and SubiektGT software: Insert Products Integration
In addition, a module was created that allows you to manage users and content available in the system, which allows for the safe use of the application by the client’s subcontractors.
Access to the system is covered by a subscription model with the possibility of adding promotions.
Result
Thanks to the new system, employees’ time have been optimized and the client receives additional revenues from making the system available to its subcontractors.
In addition, the number of errors in the entire process has decreased. Designers have the opportunity to show their previous work to potential clients.
The whole thing results in an increase in total revenues and a reduction in costs.
